Ivy
(PROJECT DESCRIPTION)
The inspiration for Ivy stemmed from my own experience as a plant owner and enthusiast. With a growing collection of diverse plants in my apartment, I found it increasingly challenging to keep track of their individual watering schedules, specific care requirements, and overall health. Determined to provide each plant with the best possible care, I envisioned Ivy—a comprehensive plant care app designed to simplify and enhance the plant care routine for plant lovers like myself. There's plenty of apps out there like this – I didn't make it to compete with those or even achieve all of the same functionality. I created it as a personal challenge to design and develop my own app that would make my life easier, in the style and format that I wanted. Throughout the development process, each design decision was guided by the goal of making plant care both effortless and enjoyable for me to use. The design incorporates visual elements inspired by nature, creating a soothing user experience. Functionalities such as species-specific care tips, notifications for watering, and a comprehensive database of plant needs were all crafted to empower myself with all the knowledge and tools necessary to keep my plants thriving. The goal for Ivy was to create a blend of technolgoy and nature, and create a reliable companion for nurturing my green space.
